Let's talk pink and purple hair dye!!

Fun fact, the oldest colour in the world is actually bright pink! Researchers crushed billion-year-old rocks into powder, and extracted and analysed the molecules of ancient organisms within them. When diluted, the ancient pigments appear bright pink. Now isn't that interesting!

Fun fact about purple too? For centuries, the purple dye trade was centred in the ancient Phoenician city of Tyre in modern-day Lebanon. The Phoenicians' “Tyrian purple” came from a species of sea snail now known as Bolinus brandaris, and it was so exceedingly rare that it became worth its weight in gold.
