Remember in the 90s when we all had to keep our little digital Tamagotchi pets alive? The hand held digital pets would often die on us after we forgot to feed them, or play with them, or do whatever minor functionality thing that Tamagotchi provided the users. It was released by Bandai on November 23, 1996 in Japan and May 1997 in the rest of the world, quickly becoming one of the biggest toy fads of the 1990s and early 2000s. As of 2010, over 76 million Tamagotchi's had been sold worldwide!
Beserk has a number of Tamagotchi's in our Bandai collection! Most Tamagotchi's are housed in a small egg-shaped computer with an interface usually consisting of three buttons, although the number of buttons may vary. According to Bandai, the name is a combination combining the two Japanese words tamago, which means "egg", and the end of "watch". Tamagotchi is also very similar sounding to the Japanese word for “friend”, tomodachi, so Tamagotchi also means “egg friend” in Japanese.
