Beserk offers a range of hair dyes and semi-permanent colours to help you achieve the exact shade you're looking for. Here, we do our best to provide information on some do's-and-don't's of home colouring 🌈

First, foremost, and of paramount importance: You will need to BLEACH your hair for any colour to come out bright and vibrant. The dyes will NOT work to their full effect on dark/unbleached hair. The images on our website are from our suppliers and they are demonstrated on models with bleached hair.

Second and equally important to know: RESULTS WILL VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON depending on your hair type and how light your hair is before colouring. The lighter your base hair colour, the brighter and more vibrant the colour will be after application of the dye. 

Pastel shades will only work on hair that has been bleached to the lightest blonde shade. If you can manage to turn your hair white, that would be better if you want to achieve pastel hair!

If you apply the dyes to hair that has not been pre-lightened/bleached, the colour will not be as vibrant and will fade quicker - in fact it may not work at all! The durability of the colour will depend on the condition of your hair when dyeing and aftercare. If the hair is too damaged or overly porous, it lacks the internal fiber to retain colour which leads to rapid  fading.

After colouring, you should always use colour friendly sulfate-free products (shampoo and conditioner). Another tip is to wash with ❄️cold❄️ water to help defend against fading (also do your best to wash it as little as possible, especially for pastels -- this is part of the maintenance process).

Additionally, there may be a lot of other reasons a dye may not result in the desired pigment, such as your other hair care formulas and even what minerals are in the water you shower or bathe in - fluoride water and tank water, or very hot water, will influence dye chemicals 🚿. Please also note that if you have had any previous permanent hair dyes in your hair, either from a professional salon or from a box of permanent colour, this is likely to drastically affect the outcome.

Adjust your expectations, and to avoid any unwanted surprises please ensure you perform swatch tests on small amounts of your hair first, before doing the full lot.
