BEWARE AUSTRALIA POST SCAM EMAILS Posted on 6 Aug 10:31 , 0 comments
We have recently become aware that spam emails have been sent out from an email address that looks very similar to ours -> firstname.lastname@example.org [beserek, not beserk]
We have investigated this thoroughly and want to reassure our customers that these emails are NOT being sent from us nor has there been any security breach of our data. This is being sent to a random selection of people, some that have never heard of Beserk before.
This is a copy of one of the emails :
Australia Post released an alert recently regarding scam emails very similar to the one in question - please see the alert here under "July 2020" :
If you receive one of these emails, please do NOT click on any links in the email & please report it as a phishing & spam email. Most email providers will have a link to click to easily do this, and then delete it immediately. You can also report the email to scamwatch, more information can be found here : https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/types-of-scams/attempts-to-gain-your-personal-information/phishing
Unfortunately, as the email address in question is not owned or controlled by Beserk, sadly there is little we are able to do at this stage aside from continuing to report it :( We have been able to track where this is being sent from, and have reported the domain and website in question, so we are hoping that it will not occur again.
If you have any questions or concerns at all, our customer service team is always happy to help. :)
