The definition of Collectables is, broadly, "any item valued and sought by collectors". Makes sense, right? The monetary or commercial value of an item is considered arbitrary by the serious collector. It is the emotional connection to the broader category of pop culture in which the collector has that investment. 

Some collectors purchase items from a particular decade, or a particular social movement, or antiques, coins, cars, shoes, hats, jewellery, stamps, or for whatever they are attached to personally. Some collectors keep their collections private just for themselves, while others buy items as a hobby or to display in exhibitions and collections at events or conventions.
