Lunar Tides |  Slate Grey Hair Dye

Slate Grey is a one of a kind medium grey hair dye with blue undertones.

Featuring vibrant tones that are highly pigmented to create a long lasting glowing colour!

- Semi Permanent
- Dyes are non-damaging and do not require developer
- We recommend bleaching your hair before application for vibrant results

WEIGHT: 4 oz

>> 100% Vegan & Cruelty Free

NOTE: The shades appear different in the bottle than they do on the hair. Please do a strand test before doing an all over application.

Attention first time bleachers: if you have dark hair or previously dyed hair and are planning to bleach your hair prior to dye application, know that you must lift to a pale yellow to platinum colour that is evenly bleached. The colour of the hair prior to applying the dye will impact the shade results. All colours look best on platinum but darker tones will work on light and pale yellow tones of hair.

NOTE: The shades appear different in the bottle than they do on the hair. Please do a strand test before doing an all over application.

Really pretty, mainly use to smoke-out a desired teal

This colour is really pretty- I've swatched it before but only used it mixed with some blue/teal and semi-diluted. It seems quite pigmented, it comes out very dark from the pouch but I wouldn't say the pictures on the site are super accurate.

I've used in shade mixes on level 8 and 10, as well as strands of level 7. As mentioned, I've diluted this so I can't say with certainty but the level 7 looks to only have toned well instead of coloured grey. Either way, I NEED this dye to achieve my smokey blue/green hair and I love it. Lunar Tides has been the only company with a wide range that offers semi-permanent colour without propylene glycol which I'm allergic to. I definitely recommend a strand test before doing allover colour as it took me a few tries to get the exact colour I wanted.

Shipping to Canada was fast and stress-free.

Happy with this dye!!

Happy with this dye, worked well on my hair even though my hair was darker.

Based.

It's really good if you're blending your natural grey roots and has a pretty good staying power. I also use it "ash up" purples and blues. A staple in my cupboard!

Very happy

Very happy with the dye, although my hair was not quite as light as suggested it coloured it a nice gray. Left my hair feeling soft and moisturised which is always a bonus

Dark grey is the way

I've given up trying to colour my greys my original brown. A hairdresser suggested slate grey to match my eyes, and I think it's more suitable than my hair suddenly turning very dark (from the brown dye) every month or so. I'm still grey, but it's a deeper shade. Easy to apply, and not as astringent as the packet dyes.

Your new best friend

If your growing out your grey hair and looking to remove brassy undertones this is your new best friend.
Looks very natural, easy to use, very low smell, long lasting colour and the added surprise was that it also conditions my hair. Use the slate grey if you have dark hair and just starting your grey journey. Use the silver lining if your already on your way.

Great coverage but a little purple!

Love this, but my hair is somewhat purple, which o wasn't expecting.

Decent dark grey shade

This shade came out more blue than I was expecting. I had previously used Smokey Navy (which came out super blue on my hair), and Slate turned out the blue steel shade that I had hoped that dye would look like, which was beautiful but just not the vibe I was going for this time, as I wanted a dark grey to go with a silver/white money-piece (which I used Lunar White for). That being said, with my hair, I've always found that grey-based or muted shades come out much brighter/more saturated than depicted or even than other people's results, so I would keep that in mind if you find your hair takes dye similarly.

I did find it faded quite quickly (after 2-3 washes it was significantly lighter), but to a more purple-toned shade, I could avoid the washed-out green look that some grey dyes leave.

Overall, I think it was a decent dark grey shade, but not quite what I was looking for personally.

Strong colour result, better than expected.

I use it to make my natural grey hair a more interesting colour and it works amazingly.

Beautiful colour

I used this colour on my roots and the silver lining on the rest of my hair to create an ombre effect and this colour is beautiful and not only that it fades beautifully i highly recommend pairing these two together for a beautiful ombre
