WOMENS TARTAN PANTS

Tartan pants are generally worn by monarchs, punk rockers, and unpopular Prime Ministers, tartan pants' have a reputation (and history) of crossing all lines! And it seems that the tartan pants 'trend' will always be present.  

But isn't tartan and plaid the same thing? well, yes and no. Plaid and tartan both contain horizontal and vertical lines that intersect at 90 degree angles. the main difference between tartan and plaid is that tartan is plaid associated with a clan. Whereas plaid holds no association with a historic clan.

 Once favoured by monarchs and the well-heeled, tartan shed some of its upper-classness at the hands of anti-establishment misfits and punks. Johnny Rotten from the all famous band The Sex Pistols, was usually never seen wearing anything else but tartan. Funnily enough, Royal Stewart tartan became an essential piece of the punk uniform – despite the fact that you’re supposed to secure royal permission to wear it, we naturally assume that this rule did not last long!
