This primarily blue-based jet black will take well to a variety of base hair colours but will show as the darkest, truest black on hair lightened to around a level 7 or lighter.

This colour is fantastic! It has a slight green tinge to it on lighter hair (and natural grey/white), but leaves blue stains if left on shower tiles (ask me how I know).
Colours evenly over natural and previously coloured hair. And like everyone else has said, smells great!
It's a beautiful and bold colour. Pitch black!
However whenever you get your hair wet you will still see that bluey black colour run all over you.
I agree with the other reviews about bleached and unbleached hair. I have naturally mousey brown hair and unfortunately, the black didn't take to to my regrowth. It went perfectly over my teal hair though, very black and pigmented. I like Arctic Fox hair dye because a little goes a really long way, the consistency is very easy to work with and it smells amazing.
It took to my natural untreated hair colour very well (light brown). It smelled nice too. Can’t yet comment on longevity
An excellent product! Easy to apply (not too thick, not too liquid) , healthy for your hair (leaves it soft and shiny), the colour is lovely, deep black; no unpleasant odour; doesn't stain your skin badly (= can be washed off or removed with make-up or specialised wipes). All in all, just great. :-)
Favourite hair dye brand. Will be a frequent buyer for life! Would highly recommend to all.
I just used it this morning. It went amazing over bleached & then green hair, but not on my regrowth. You can tell where my regrowth ends and the bleach/green starts, but unless you're looking for it you wont see it. A little goes a long way too.

A little goes a long way. It holds a great black colour, eventually fading to dark green on darker (unbleached) hair.
Magnificent black, super strong colour and covers up both natural hair and damaged, bleached hair evenly. Smells wonderful too!!
