Ever wondered why Halloween is on the day it is? Well, Halloween falls on October 31 because the ancient Gaelic festival of Samhain-which is considered the earliest known root of Halloween, occurred on this day. It marked a pivotal time of year when seasons changed, but more importantly, observers also believed the boundary between this world and the next became especially thin at this time, enabling them to connect with the dead. 

Many people associate Halloween with Trick or treating, which is a 'game' where children of all ages dress up in costumes and travel from house to house to receive treats in response to their call of “trick or treat!". The reason they say 'Trick or treat' is basically a way of them saying that if the house owners choose to NOT give them a treat, then they will perform a trick on them, such as egging their house or scaring them in a way. But with that being said, usually, the children will ask for treats, and if the house owner does not, the child will go on with their night peacefully.
