Masters of the Universe is a sword and sorcery themed media franchise created by Mattel. The main storyline follows the conflict between He-Man, the alter ego of Prince Adam, and Skeletor on planet Eternia. Skeletor was once a man named Keldor, meant to reign on the throne of Eternia, until he was passed over for his younger half-brother, Randor, due to his mixed race. Whilst trying to seize the throne from Randor by force, Keldor was scalded in the face by burning acid and had to summon a dark entity to save his life, losing his face in the process and being reborn as Skeletor, a man who seeks the ancient secrets of Castle Grayskull which would enable him to conquer all of Eternia once and for all. He-Man battles with Skeletor to prevent him from conquering Eternia and discovering the secrets of Castle Grayskull, a mysterious ancient fortress with a skull-shaped facade, containing great power and magic.
